(CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga.) The Council of Magistrate Court Judges is honored to announce that Chief Magistrate Court Judge Mary Kathryn Moss has been selected as the recipient of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
This esteemed recognition honors a judge whose exceptional contributions have significantly impacted the Magistrate Court, leaving a lasting legacy and serving as a role model for their peers.
Chief Judge Moss is a distinguished jurist with a remarkable career dedicated to public service and the improvement of the magistrate court system in Georgia. She was sworn in as Chief Magistrate of Chatham County in 2005 and has since become a pillar within the Council.
“Judge Moss’s contributions to the Council are truly invaluable,” said Judge Brandon Bryson, President of the Council of Magistrate Court Judges. “Her tireless work ethic, legislative expertise and commitment to mentorship have had a lasting impact on the entire magistrate court system.”
Judge Moss’s dedication extends far beyond Chatham County. She has held every leadership position within the Council, including President and continues to serve actively on key committees. Her influence has been instrumental in shaping legislation that benefits courts across the state.
Chief Judge Moss’s achievements are numerous. In addition to her Lifetime Achievement Award, she was previously recognized by the Council as Magistrate of the Year in 2018 and Workhorse of the Year in 2011. She also served as Chair of the Magistrate Court Training Council, ensuring consistency and quality in judicial education programs.
