Enmarket Raises Almost $130,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk
(SAVANNAH, GA) Due to the outpouring of community support, Enmarketis pleased to announce that the company has raised $128,240.88 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light the Night Walk. Since the company started this annual fundraiser in 2013, Enmarkethas raised a total of $481,744.75 for LLS.
Every year, for one month, the company’s 122 stores in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina sell Light the Nightpaper balloon icons for $1 each in support of LLS’s mission to cure blood cancer and help patients and their families.
The store that raised the most overall this year was the Port Royal location, which held an in-store fundraiser raising $1,281 in a single day. The location raised $4,609 in total.
“Every year, our customers show us an extraordinary amount of support in our efforts for LLS,” said Brett Giesick, Enmarket’s president. “Several stores doubled or even tripled their original goals, including Reidsville, Brooklet, Port Royal and Wilmington. We are so thankful for our staff and our customers for making this donation possible.”
Representatives from the Enmarketteam presented the $128,240.88 check to LLSrepresentatives on Wednesday, September 12. “We are so grateful for the support from Enmarketand their customers,” said Lauren Mathews, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Georgia Chapter’s Campaign Manager for Light The Night. “This donation helps to provide patient support services, goes towards advocating for lifesaving treatments, as well as, cancer research. With this one check, we’ve now reached over half of our fundraising goal.”
Savannah’s Light The Night Walkwill take place on Friday, November 16 in Daffin Park. During the event, walkers carry an illuminated balloon along the walk route. Cancer patients and survivors will carry white balloons as “lights of hope,” supporters carry red balloons and those walking in remembrance of someone carry gold balloons.
