SAVANNAH, Ga. – Oliver Maner lawyers presented the donation of essential personal care items, including soap, toothpaste, sheets, blankets, and hygiene items to Union Mission’s Parker’s House: A Home for Women. This donation is a result of the National Homelessness Awareness Month supply drive held during the month of November.

“Oliver Maner does a wonderful job determining what our clients need and working with us to get exactly that—the partnership is vital and continues year-round,” said Michael Traynor with Union Mission, noting the collaboration also includes board chair Bill Hunter of Oliver Maner.

Parker’s House provides 90 days of emergency housing with supportive services for up to 32 women at a time, partnering with residents to foster personal, economic, and housing stability. Union Mission’s wraparound care includes food, clothing, transportation, mental health counseling, employment support, and other services. The goal of Parker’s House is to help residents maintain stable housing and reemerge as independent members of the community.

The need remains significant. Savannah-Chatham County has the second-highest rate of homelessness in Georgia, and an estimated 180 women experience homelessness on any given night, according to the Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless (2023 HUD Point-in-Time Survey). The firm’s annual drive focuses on high-need, high-use items identified by Parker’s House.
