Pinnacle Medical Group Opens Office as Emergency Relief Center for Laceration Repair and Minor Skin Injuries
(BEAUFORT/BLUFFTON/HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC) Pinnacle Medical Group, the locally owned and operated parent company of Pinnacle Plastic Surgery, PURE Medical Spa and Beaufort Dermatology, has reached out to Beaufort Memorial, Hilton Head and Coastal Carolina Hospitals and offered to relieve their emergency departments by accepting laceration repair and minor skin injury patients directly in the Bluffton office, located at 7 Mallet Way, and in the Beaufort office, located at 1096 Ribaut Road.
“Our hope is to divert patients from the emergency room to our office in an effort to save the hospital beds, emergency personnel, and supplies available for potential COVID-19 patients,” said Dr. Audrey Klenke, plastic surgeon and principal of Pinnacle Medical Group.
If the patient has a minor or complex laceration, whether it would normally require a consultant to be called or not, the patient is offered to be seen in the office for evaluation and repair saving them time and the potential exposure to COVID-19.
Patients will be given Pinnacle Medical Group’s contact information and instructed to ensure contact has been made and a plan in place before leaving hospital. The ER provider can communicate details directly with the Pinnacle team, which reduces any confusion. Patients who need simple suture removal and other minor procedures appropriate for a plastic surgery office can also be diverted.
The hours of operation for these procedures fall under the practice’s temporarily modified office hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday for the Bluffton office and 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday / 8:00 a.m. – 12 p.m. Friday for the Beaufort office. After-hours services may become available depending on the demand for appointments.
