(BLUFFTON, S.C.) Russo’s Fresh Seafood Bluffton, a premier fresh retail and wholesale seafood market serving the Lowcountry, proudly announced its 2025 annual All-You-Can-Eat Oyster Roast. This beloved event took place on Saturday, February 1, from 1-5 p.m., and was held at Russo’s Fresh Seafood, 246 Red Cedar St., Bluffton, SC. It was an afternoon of great food, community spirit and philanthropy.
For the second year in a row, proceeds from the event benefitted Palmetto Animal League (PAL), a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a community where every neglected animal has a second chance at life, guided by a compassionate approach to animal welfare, proactive relocation, and innovative strategies to address pet overpopulation.
“Being a dog lover and having seen the positive impact of last year’s event, we knew we wanted to partner with an organization dedicated to animal welfare. The devastation in Asheville, N.C. has put a tremendous strain on groups like Palmetto Animal League, and we’re proud to support their crucial work,” said Charles Russo III, owner of Russo’s Fresh Seafood Bluffton.
The Oyster Roast welcomed all, with family-friendly activities and vendors including:
All-you-can-eat fresh oysters
Beer, wine and champagne for purchase
New in 2025: Cup of crab stew for $5, all proceeds going directly to PAL
Live music from Eric Culberson Band
Bounce house for the kids
Woof Gang Bakery treats and toys
Shrimp Sisters seasoning and swag
PAL was back at the event again this year with adoptable dogs seeking their forever homes.
“The Oyster Roast is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy great food and music while supporting animals in need and potentially finding a new furry family member,” said PAL Marketing Coordinator Lindsay Perry. “We’re incredibly grateful for Russo’s Fresh Seafood’s continued support, and we encourage everyone to join us for a fantastic day.”
Guests and their canine companions browsed tempting treats from Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming and discovered Lowcountry seasonings from South Carolina’s Shrimp Sisters. Attendees were encouraged to bring chairs, friends, family and their leashed pets.
Tickets were available at Eventbrite, and children under 8 years old are admitted free.
ABOUT PALMETTO ANIMAL LEAGUE
Palmetto Animal League is a private, non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization that believes every animal deserves a second chance at life. PAL’s Adoption Center, located in Okatie’s Riverwalk Business Park, serves as a temporary residence for approximately 200 dogs and cats while they wait to find a loving home. This comfortable, upbeat facility is also home to PAL’s veterinary clinic, which offers wellness exams, vaccines, and other vital services to pet owners at affordable prices. PAL uses the proceeds to rescue abandoned, abused, and neglected animals and place them in loving homes. In addition, Palmetto Animal League manages a network of loving foster families to house and care for pets too young or too weak to be adopted, as well as those in need of medical or behavioral rehab. Remember to shop at the PAL Thrift Store in Sheridan Park, where great buys save lives.
